Current Situation

Years on a Waiting List. Hundreds Don't Make It.

Over 13,500 patients across Europe are currently on the Eurotransplant waiting list. More than 10,400 of them need a kidney. The average wait ranges from 5 to 9 years — and every year, over 560 patients die before a donor organ becomes available.

Each year hundreds of patients across Eurotransplant countries do not survive the waiting period. The average kidney wait across Europe ranges from 5 to 9 years depending on the country and allocation programme.

How the programme works
01

We Review Your Medical Case

Our coordination team conducts an independent review of your medical records, assesses compatibility, and determines whether you are eligible for the programme — before any commitment on your part.

02

We Manage the Entire Waiting Period

Once accepted, we handle ongoing clinical monitoring every ~90 days, repeated compatibility testing, and immediate notification when a matching organ becomes available.

03

We Arrange Travel and Logistics

When the time comes, we coordinate your travel to Minsk, prepare all documentation, and liaise directly with the transplant facility on your behalf.

04

You Receive Care at a State Centre of Excellence

The transplant is performed at the RNPC in Minsk — with post-transplant survival rates comparable to Western Europe and the United States.

Waiting Period

Up to 12 Months — Not Years

Through our programme, the typical waiting period for a transplant is significantly shorter than in most European allocation systems. In individual cases, subject to medical eligibility and organ availability, the waiting period is up to 12 months.
